So this is the fabled EP that broke the band. We had our own internal problems with personnel before during recording, and we really dragged ass when it came to the horns. We had ousted longtime trumpet player, Matt, due to his unreliability, but that probably was the beginning of the end for the band. We tried out some other musicians in his place but no one fit like he did. We probably should have been more adult about it and approached him instead of kicking him out, but mistakes were made and in the end we all paid the price.

We spent a lot of time recording the rhythm parts and absolutely adore them. one of the founding members, John, ended up quitting the band the day before (or day of) the horns were scheduled to record and we tried to go at it with just James and Bobby. They did what they could and both recorded multiple parts on the tracks they appear in, but it just didn't sound right and we put recording on hold. Nick and Jon G (drums/guitar) ended up leaving the band shortly thereafter, so we were done. Josh never even got into the studio to sing so there aren't any vocals.

We all very much love each other still, and want to finish this album eventually, but we were kids when we were recording this and we're all in different places in our lives (and geographically) so right now it doesn't like like this is gonna get finished outside of some sort of miracle. So why put this out? Because a few people wanted to hear it and I figured it wasn't hurting anyone. I'm extremely proud of this work that we did and terribly depressed that we never finished this, but this is all we've got, so enjoy!

If you're interested in helping us finish, I'm open to collaboration with horn players.

The Guilty Parties

The Guilty Parties Riverside, California

We were a ska band out of Riverside, California. Most of the guys met in high school band and decided they would be local legends. I'd say we did a pretty good job of it.
